"This project aims to support the flood-affected families in Central Mindanao with relief assistance, enabling them to secure their right to life with dignity and right to health. Plan Central Mindanao Program Area will be in charge with the implementation of this 6-month program, addressing the immediate needs of up to 5,000 affected individuals. The JOAC grant will be used to address the most critical needs amongst the children and families affected by floods in Maguindanao province. The response aims to directly benefit 1,000 affected families (approx. 5,000 people) who are in urgent need of essential water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) support. Taking into consideration the needs identified, gaps in provision from other humanitarian agencies and the Governement, our expertise and potential reach in the affected areas, some of the activities prioritised by Plan International Philippines include: -Providing hygiene kits to 1,000 families. Kits include items such as: o shampoo o soap o toothbrushes and toothpaste o sanitary pads o hair brush o laundry bar o nail clippers o towel o water storage container - Conducting awareness raising amongst 1,000 families on the importance of good hygiene practices during times of flood, including how to prevent waterborne diseases.
