"The activities to be implemented under this project will be focused on: i) Provision of protective equipment to health centres for promotion of adequate Infection Prevention and Control measures to prevent Lassa fever; ii) Social mobilization activities that will focus on proximity communication, educational sessions for behaviour change of communities and children to prevent further spread of Lassa and quick identification of suspect cases; and iii) support to community-based epidemiological surveillance of persons contacts by community volunteers and quick adequate reporting. Due to the quickly evolving rates of transmission, Plan's activities will focus on community sensitization to prevent the spread of the disease both in Departments with active cases as well as other Departments that could be affected. The locations have been chosen in collaboration with others to ensure national coverage and make efficient use of resources by preventing the need to have to resource more treatment. It will directly benefit to 125,467 persons, including 62,734 girls and women. "
