ASEAN Safe School initiative phase 4

This ASSI project is a regional initiative led by Plan International in partnership with Save the Children. The regional component will address to enhance regional coordination and cross-collaboration between the Disaster Management and Education Sectors across the 10 ASEAN Member States (AMSs) for the advancement of comprehensive school safety while strengthen the advocacy on safe schools contributing to the stronger commitment of 10 ASEAN Member States to AADMER Work Programme 2016-2020. At country level, in Philippines and Cambodia, ASSI will be targeting national advocacy to strengthen government’s commitment toward school safety in country and increase capacity on school safety and DRR in Education Sector in general to the government officials, school authorities, and students to ensure the leadership and ownership of the Ministry of Education and Disaster Management Offices in the country. The expected outcomes of this proposal are, by the end of the project, we will have: - Strengthened multi-stakeholders’ coordination and collaboration on safe school among the ASEAN Member States (AMSs) education and disaster management sectors and other stakeholders are strengthened - Increased technical capacity and knowledge on comprehensive safe school within government officials and other stakeholders to improve implementation of safe schools across AMSs
