The aim of this cluster is improving data and evidence to unlock investment into Assistive Technology, including in humanitarian contexts. Research, Evidence and Impact is led by Global Disability Innovation Hub at UCL, framing the economics of AT around a mission-led approach; developing a return on investment framework alongside an insights portal for policymakers, regulators and funders, a mobile screening tool to conduct population based surveys in LMIC’s to estimate the prevalence of functional impairments, researching what works to overcome stigma as well as focusing on the support to the development of the Global Report on Assistive Technology. This cluster also looks to understand the impact of AT on disabled people’s lives as well as the impact disabled people can create when they have access to AT, while using advanced data modelling techniques for population data concerning disabled people to create more comprehensive and relevant national data without the need for individual tracking. Additionally, led by GDI Hub at UCL, we focus on pulling together all learnings from across AT2030 to address the question 'What Works to improve access to AT'.
