Improving Children's Nutritional Wellbeing in Benin

The Power of Nutrition is contributing $5m to this $10m programme with UNICEF in Benin to support the Government of Benin’s national nutrition programme. The programme will support the Government to address systemic weaknesses and improve the supply of quality nutrition services and increase demand in communities. It will focus on three key areas: i) strengthening national and decentralised planning, coordination and information systems for nutrition programming, ii) enhancing capacity of health workers, community health workers and non-governmental organisations to deliver nutrition services; and, iii) increasing the utilization of nutrition services and uptake of key family practices. The programme will target over 830,000 children aged under 5 and more than 450,000 pregnant women in three regions.
