The Research and Information Systems in Africa (RISA) Fund is a multi-country FCDO-funded programme that aims to support research and innovation systems strengthening in Africa by bringing together two FCDO Research and Evidence Division (RED) programmes under the RISA Fund umbrella: Strengthening Research Institutions in Africa (SRIA) and the African Technology and Innovation Partnerships (ATIP). The RISA Fund will enable the two programmes to more effectively realise the synergies between their objectives of strengthening research and innovation systems. The project started in July 2021 and will run until March 2023. IMC leads the RISA Research and MEL Unit, which is responsible for the monitoring, evaluation, adaptation, and learning of the programme, including refining the overall programme theory of change, country level theories of change, and developing the results framework and learning plan for RISA. The Unit also provided MEL support to grantees during the inception phase.
