The Bale REDD+Pilot has been developed to avoid deforestation and forest degradation in the Bale Eco-region. Overall goal: to make significant contribution to enable Ethiopia to realize its Climate Resilient Green Economy Strategy at grass roots level. Purpose: to establish REDD+ scheme in the Bale Mountains though international support to community & regional level bodies in order to enhance local livelihoods and reduce poverty by promoting diverse income generating options that are forest friendly including financial flow from REDD+.
