Inclusive local governance(1) The purpose of this project is to strengthen civil society organizations at the national, district, and local level to engage with government units in light of the national government’s plan to decentralize, or devolve power to the local levels. Beneficiaries include one national-level organization, six district NGO networks, and local members. Activities include training and mentoring in organizational development, budgeting, work planning, and strategic planning. Raising women’s voices(2) This projects works with the National Women’s network and one district women’s organization which aim to support women engaged in the political process, actively implement laws supporting and protecting women, and support women’s livelihoods. Beneficiaries are poor women in Oecusse and women’s civil society organizations. Strengthening capacity of pro-poor organizations(3) This project works to strengthen the capacities of several national-level civil society organizations in the areas of organizational development, strategic planning, board development, and general planning. Beneficiaries are the partner CSOs and their target communities. Building accountancy capacity to increase effectiveness(4) A major concern, effecting both CSOs and government agencies, is a lack of accountancy capacity. This project aims to support a range or CSOs in basic accountancy, book keeping, financial reporting, and the use of finance software. Beneficiaries are CSOs at the national and district levels. HIV-AIDS support(5) This project aims to support governmental and nongovernmental organizations in their work on HIV/AIDs education and organizational development. It includes training and advising in organizational development as well as in content-oriented HIV education and prevention. Primary beneficiaries are persons living with HIV and at-risk groups. Institutional Capacity Development - Caritas(6) The purpose of this project is to assist the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maliana in the development of a Caritas organization that will focus on justice, livelihoods, and peace-building. The beneficiaries are the women and marginalized citizens of this rural area. ;
