Women's protection project in Melkadida refugee camp, Ethiopia

ActionAid UK's has a partnership with People's Postocde Lottery and benefits directly from lottery draws assigned within a calendar year. This intervention will provide protection services in the Melkadida refugee camps. Specific activities and comprehensive programme design will be developed in the first phase of the project, the programme will feature the following: Prevention: - Awareness raising- using local community structures, they organize for example, community dialogues, consultative workshops, training, coffee session. - Campaigns and international events (world refuge day, 16 days of activism, March 8, zero tolerance to FGM etc.). - Capacity building to partners and local structures - Community behavioral change on SGBV. It is a community led intervention that takes the community through different phases from awareness creation to action in preventing SGBV.
