Piwa Maleng (Our Clean Water)

This project aims to repair and rehabilitate nonfunctioning boreholes and improve access to water, sanitation and hygiene for approximately 10,800 people. All 32 non-functional boreholes in Lamogi sub-county will be repaired, and the project will train mechanics to maintain and repair them in future and establish Water User Committees who will oversee and monitor the use and maintenance of the boreholes. We will also drill 4 new boreholes in areas where there is currently no access to a borehole. To support communities to use the boreholes safely, we will conduct community dialogue sessions and house to house awareness raising on healthy hygiene and sanitation practices.
