Through recreational sport activities, Amref Health Africa’s ‘Sport for Health’ project aims to reach 3,000 adolescent girls living in Dagoretti and Mukuru Informal Settlements with sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and life skills education. This will equip the girls with the knowledge they need to improve their health, understand their rights, access education and training opportunities and, ultimately, make decisions about their own health and futures. Community dialogues will also target 4000 community members to confront social norms that expose girls to sexual exploitation, violence and teen pregnancy. 300 adolescent mothers will be facilitated with psycho-social support and career opportunities.
