The overall aim of the project is to ensure a better and equal opportunity environment for educational growth of children with visual impairment (CVIs) within mainstream education system.
Various direct support are given like, training on plus curriculum, medical assessment of both blind and low vision children, skill enhancement camps, sensitising teachers and relatives, exposure visits, promoting extra-curricular activities, etc. Some need based activities like training on adolescent health to VI girls, etc. was also incorporated.
Advocacy with Government departments and village level bodies ensured monetary and other benefits like braille text books and assistive devices. The project also revived Parent Teacher Association for better monitoring and support for VI children.
The CVIs thus will enjoy inclusive growth opportunity for their future development.
