The National Eye Care Coordination Programme is aimed at establishing an effective and efficient national eye care coordination system in the Ministry of Health in order to improve delivery of eye care services in Malawi in line with the V2020. Specific objectives include: To raise the profile of eye health internally (Health sector) and externally; To initiate a Trachoma elimination programme; To promote integration of eye health with other health initiatives. Key activities include: Advocacy initiatives to leverage support to eye health issues in the country; Promote networking with other civil society organisations on eye health; Conduct Trachoma prevalence surveys in endemic districts; Support NPBC Meetings. The programme is expected to build capacity of national eye care coordination structures and improve collaboration in delivery of eye health.
