Purpose of the project is that People with Visual impairment (PVIs) maximise their physical and mental abilities, to lead improved quality of life and be included in social, economic, and other development activities of the area; Community respects the needs and rights of PWDs and improve their access to opportunities and eye care services becomes accessible to the area, thus reducing the prevalence & incidence of vision impairment. Key Activities of the project include assessment & training of the approximately 200 PVIs including vocational training; eye health support such as organising diagnostic camps & school screening and reaching to 3000 persons needing eye care; orienting PWDs towards their rights and collective functioning as DPO; and community orientations. At the end of the project, People with visual impairment have requisite social and vocational skills and the community of the project area have better access to eye health services.
