Playgrounds: a tool to increase access to ECD education in Uganda's refugee settlements

A project to install community-designed playgrounds and deliver training for teachers in interactive teaching in 59 ECD centres in refugee-hosting areas of Uganda, over 36 months, improving the quality of ECD provision for 28,323 enrolled children, and increasing enrolment by 50% (14,161 children), through children engaging with playgrounds. 1,475 adults will be trained (295 teachers, 1,180 parents) in interactive teaching and play's importance, and will be encouraged to share knowledge with others.
