Information and Dialogue on Irregular Migration from Afghanistan

This 24-month project will focus on reducing uninformed irregular migration from Afghanistan, which continues to place many Afghans, particularly young men, at high risk and puts pressure on transit countries and countries of arrival. The project has been designed to fill the gap for quality information to be shared and exchanged with potential irregular migrants on Afghanistan’s migration and migration-related issues that is not only balanced and accurate, but which is creative and genuinely engages and addresses the interests, hopes and concerns of this vulnerable group, and integrates two-way dialogue. Access to quality information on risks, rights, safe, orderly migration procedures and in-country alternatives will help Afghans develop a more nuanced understanding of migration and gain the agency to make informed, responsible choices.
