Harnessing Green Finance through Climate-related Risk Management and Opportunities in Malaysia

The project aims to build the capacity of financial institutions in Malaysia to manage the impact of climate-related risks and opportunities on businesses, strategy, and financial planning. Outputs: 1. Recommendations proposed to Value based Intermediation Financing and Investment Impact Assessment Framework (VBIAF) sectoral guide working groups through recommendation of climate change industry best practices and impact risk management. 2. Recommendations proposed to BNM’s reference document on climate risk management and scenario analysis. 3. Industry-level workshop with a summary report to enhance the knowledge and skill of financial institutions and the central bank on climate risk and opportunities. 4. Bilateral training and engagements with at least two major banks to apply climate risk assessment tools (scenario analysis and stress testing). 5. White paper on climate-related risk analysis for financial institutions
