This project is part of the activities related to the response against COVID-19 in the DRC. It aims to support efforts to contain the spread of the pandemic by providing children, young people and their parents with credible information on prevention and response to COVID-19 through two free hotlines: the number 116 which covers Kinshasa and its surroundings, and the number 117 which covers the city of Goma. Thanks to these two assistance lines, the social workers of the DUAS and the DIVAS are supported for the identification, referral and management of child protection and SGBV cases in the areas affected by the pandemic. The project also aims to reach the most vulnerable categories of children in urban areas, namely street children and children in conflict with the law, with awareness-raising messages and hygiene and personal protection kits. Finally, children and parents particularly affected by COVID-19 are provided with flexible cash assistance to prevent or respond to child protection or protection needs such as access to care, transport assistance, legal assistance, temporary accommodation, quarantine / containment, and food.
