This project will establish productive farms and create access to commercial markets for women-headed households who have been re-settled in the districts of Lira, Apac and Oyam after the conflict in northern Uganda. It will run for two years from August 2011. It will directly support 1,800 poor women, each of whom looks after 5-8 children, many of them orphans, enabling them to improve the diet and food security for their families and generate incomes. An additional 3,000 families are expected to benefit from the market access, facilities and skills training provided.;
