Since 2012, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), The Border Consortium (TBC), Mae Tao Clinic (MTC), and Backpack Health Worker Team (BPHWT) have been implementing DFID-funded programmes/projects supporting conflict-affected people in Thailand and in South East Burma/Myanmar. This proposed overarching programme Assistance to Conflict-Affected People in Thailand-Burma/Myanmar border area and South East Burma/Myanmar is a cost extension of these programmes and projects for which IRC will act as a managing agent. The programme is composed of the following four components, namely the IRC’s Legal Assistance Centre Project, TBC’s Preparing for Return – Assistance to Displaced Burmese in Thailand and South East Burma/Myanmar, MTC’s Support to Burmese Refugees and Migrants in Thailand and IDPs in Burma/Myanmar through Provision of Vital Pharmaceutical Supplies, and BPHWT’s Emergency Health Care Programme in Eastern Burma/Myanmar.These components contribute to the overall intended impact where conflict-affected people in the Thailand-Burma/Myanmar border area and South East Burma/Myanmar are healthily and safe, and are able to exercise control over their lives
