All beneficiary households will receive support from resilience and Food Security & Livelihoods activities. Activities will be: - supplementing traditional knowledge and practices with technology that can support adaption and diversification of livelihoods, to deal with climate change and minor shocks and supporting improved natural resource management. -the provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) particularly in areas where droughts are recurrent, the programme will rehabilitate water points, through CfW where possible, to provide water for both human and livestock consumption. -To address primary protection needs, the programme will construct transitional shelters targeting IDPs and vulnerable host communities.- Further the consortium approach to humanitarian response focuses on injecting cash into the existing market system using both proven and pilot methods. - The consortium intends to work with the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG- a division of the Overseas Development Institute) to conduct a research project concurrently with programme activities. IRC will work in Banadir and Mudug.
