Objective of the National Reserve: Preparedness involves actions, activities or measures taken to improve the ability of organisations to anticipate, act in advance of, manage and respond to crises. The aim is to strengthen capabilities that enable effective and efficient anticipation of or response to situations. In this case Cyclone season. Management of the national reserve: The national reserve allocation is allocated from the total amount of the Start Ready risk pool allocated to members on a national basis. This is a fixed amount agreed by the Start Ready Governance Committee based on applications to Start Ready and the status and strength of governance structures in the country. It is anticipated that the entire allocation will be spent within each risk pool (April - March) on activities related to the readiness and preparedness of DRF systems that are part of Start Ready. How best to use these funds to achieve this objective will depend on the context and risk, which should be decided in country.
