DEC Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal Phase2

DEC launched the Turkey/Syria earthquake appeal in response to two earthquakes which struck northwestern Syria and southern Turkey at the beginning of February 2023. We are currently in Phase 2 of the DEC programme which is transitioning from emergency response activities to early recovery. In Turkey, Action Against Hunger is working through two local partners, Support to Life and Solidarity, Respect and Protect to support earthquake affected communities in Hatay and Kahramanmaras. Action Against Hunger and partners are providing WASH support in camps as well as nutrition support through baby-friendly spaces. In Syria, Action Against Hunger is directly implementing in supporting earthquake affected communities in Aleppo, Hama and Lattakia. In phase 2, Action Against Hunger is conducting emergency rehabilitation of schools and WASH infrastructure as well as supporting households with home food production inputs and supporting primary health care centres and mobile medical teams.
