Preparedness and preparedness involve actions, activities or measures taken that improve the ability of organizations to anticipate, act proactively, manage and respond to crises. It is a question of reinforcing the capacities which allow an anticipation or an effective and efficient answer to the situations. This may involve: - Development of operational procedures - Pre-signing of agreements with suppliers, partners, government authorities - Staff training on intervention plans - Partner capacity building activities - Development of IEC material - Targeting activities - Storage of distribution items (sandbags, hygiene kits, etc.). - Pre-positioning of distribution items All activities should be directly linked to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of contingency plans that have already been approved.
