In order to face the crisis following the flooding affecting the communities of Ber, AAH wants to provide an emergency response in order to assist the affected households and contribute to the reduction of the mortality rate, in particular among pregnant women and children under 5 years old.It is estimated that there are more than 171 affected households in Ber. Due to this damage, locals are more exposed to various diseases: malaria with the proliferation of mosquitoes, waterborne diseases such as diarrhea (latrines destroyed by floods have caused the evacuation of excrements in the streets), cold-related infections due to the loss of shelter and NFI, and lack of access to good hygiene. In addition, water flow increases the unhealthiness of the streets.
