Development Expertise Center (DEC) is Ethiopian National Civil Society Organization(CSO) established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 per the accord to Proclamation 1113/2019 for CSOs bearing a registration number 0009. DEC has the program goal of designing and implementing sustainable development programs that address the social and economic needs of its target groups. The organization is governed by Board which has five members as its supreme governing organ and it has an Executive Director who is assigned by the Board and responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization with a Management Team who are department/section heads. Advocacy program is one of among five programs of the organization designed to widen and strengthen its constituency base to influence decision-makers to introduce or change and implement policies, laws, and practices for the benefit of a community. The project approach is generally to empower communities and amplify voices and promote sustainable development through capacity strengthening of Civil Society Actors (CSAs) and/or Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) on Mobilizing Support(MS), Local Fund Raising(LFR) and Life Skills for Lobby using Change the Game Alliance(CtGA) tools and techniques. One of the project under Advocacy program is Giving for Change (GfC) project, it is a five years project which has been implemented since 2021 in two regional states of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, and Oromia. The project is implemented in a consortium led by DEC the constituting members are the Consortium of Self-help Group Promoter (CoSAP), and the Consortium of Ethiopian Human Right Organisations(CEHRO). The project is funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Wildganzan Foundation.
