Oxfam IBIS’ strategic partnership with Danida aims at creating a just world in which all people have equal access to quality education, influence and resources. Together with partners, Oxfam IBIS combats global inequality, discrimination and poverty by directly supporting people and communities and by using ground-level experiences to influence development policy decisions at the local, national, regional and global level. By addressing inequality – in and through education, participation, gender justice, governance, economic access, employment, etc. – Oxfam IBIS is contributing effectively to all Danida ‘strategic points of orientation’, the SDGs prioritised by Danida, and the Policy for Danish Support to Civil Society. Through a strong, results-oriented approach, Oxfam IBIS works for inclusive sustainable growth, freedom, democracy and development. HUMANITARIAN objective: Girls, boys, women and men affected by crisis gain basic life skills, knowledge and capacities to enhance their rights leading to increased resilience through coordinated, community-led response. Growing humanitarian challenges – including socio-political conflicts, climate-related disasters and protracted crisis situations – show a need for new ways of working to protect human rights and ‘leave no-one behind’. In line with Denmark’s priorities and global commitments (e.g. Charter for Change, Grand Bargain, World Humanitarian Summit Commitment to Action, and The New Way of Working), Oxfam is committed to change its ways of working to promote rights and dignity. Oxfam IBIS uses Oxfam’s humanitarian platform to offer technical expertise in education, capacity development, gender equality and advocacy, contributing to resilient outcomes and linking the humanitarian/development nexus. This is expected to increase the effect of overall Danish humanitarian efforts, particularly and initially in Mali and South Sudan.
