Overall objective of the country engagement: Internally displaced people and vulnerable host communities affected by the multidimensional crisis in Boucle du Mouhoun and Northern region of Burkina Faso have improved their socioeconomic resilience in more conflict resistant communities. The long-term changes (outcomes) of the country engagement 2022-2025: 1. Female IDPs and vulnerable women from host communities are empowered through participation in Saving and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) and sustainable Income Generating Activities (IGA), such as food transformation and breeding, for improved socioeconomic resilience. 2. Young people are empowered through vocational training for improved socio-economic resilience. 3. Cocoons of recycled plastic, for water-saving vegetable growing, have been designed, tested, and possibly scaled for improved livelihood of crisis affected population. 5. Social cohesion of crisis affected communities have improved through community-led and representative committees for dialogue and peace facilitating rights awareness raising and issue of ID documents to IDPs, and young ambassadors for peace mitigating the risk of radicalisation. 7. Flexible and locally managed funding available for capacity development needed to comply with CIMS and humanitarian principles in alignment with Caritas Burkina’s (OCADES) three-year action plan.
