In 2017 and beyond, Caritas Danmark will continue its country programmes in Uganda and Myanmar. The programmes develop according to plan, giving way for strengthened and expanding operations. Myanmar is the Caritas Danmark flagship in terms of merging development and humanitarian aid. By January 2017, humanitarian funds will cease and the partners will only receive development aid. However, the development programme will improve disaster risk reduction (DRR) programming with the aim of strengthening the resilience of target groups and their coping skills to counter natural disasters and the effects of climate change. The national advocacy component will be phased-out by end 2016. Funds which previously were anticipated for Zimbabwe will now be re-allocated to Uganda, the global work and Chad. In 2017, Caritas Danmark will explore the opportunities to support our local partner in Chad to expand their relations with the government of Chad and the UN by building an innovative development programme for the rural communities in Eastern Chad. The programme will link the response to the Darfur crisis with local integration of Sudanese refugees supporting them and their
