Currently, among other projects, DRC Burundi is implementing Livelihoods, Food Security and Climate Resilience projects through agroecologically-based Resilience Design in areas hosting high numbers of returnees. In addition, DRC Burundi recently finalized a project funded by IOM and the U.S. Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) where the activities included vocational training and the implementation of 4 community stabilization projects following community consultations, in 4 hills. As such, DRC aims at further supporting these communities by leading 4 additional community stabilisation projects based on community consultations in the same hills that were done during phase 1. DRC will also provide continued support to the community stabilisation committees and the livelihoods beneficiaries who received trainings under phase 1 in order to ensure the sustainability of the intervention. Similarly, to phase 1, these activities will be implemented through a range of methodologies including cash for work, life-skills and financial literacy training and entrepreneurship or vocational skills coaching with a focus on social cohesion.
