This partnership project between IMCC Fair and Healthy People Rwanda aims to reduce morbidity and mortality due to road traffic injuries among Rwanda’s youth by 2025. It builds upon a strong collaboration between the two organizations and previous pilot and partnership projects undertaken together. This scale up partnership project has three central objectives: raising awareness of road safety and first aid procedures in 30 high schools in Kigali, identifying current policy gaps in Rwandan road traffic laws and advocating for the inclusion of a road safety and first aid component in the national high school curriculum. The primary target group is students from high schools in Kigali, since our target is to ensure their participation in educational workshops and advocacy efforts. Another primary target group is the Rwandan government. They will receive policy recommendations and our suggestion to include road safety education in the national high school curriculum. The secondary target group is the HPR members and teachers in these schools, who will conduct the road traffic workshops and benefit from the capacity-building activities.
