The youth leader exchange will support the implementation of the Inclusive and Resilient Community with Empowered and Engaged People (ICE) that starts in May 2023 (annex 11). The project is implemented by Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) and Danish Red Cross (DRC) in rural municipalities in Lamjung District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. The DRC and NRCS has a long-standing partnership and have implemented projects in the Lambjung District for the past 15 years. The ICE project has a strong focus on empowering youth and vulnerable groups by capacity-building them to position themselves as agents of change in their families and communities and through improving their socio-economic status. Unemployment is a major challenge for youth in Nepal due to the caste system and inadequate economic growth. The youth leader exchange will support the project by strengthening the capacity of key NRCS youth volunteers to support local youth in Lamjung in building personal capacities and initiate youth-led projects to enhance their livelihood.
