The ambassadors for peace project is upscaling to its third phase targeting the rural communities of Seke and Murewa in Zimbabwe. The earlier phases of the project are sustainably reflected today in Goromonzi and Epworth where information desks and peace gardens are physically anchored and proving to be worthwhile dialogue spaces. This project is largely influenced by the past experiences in Goromonzi and Epworth, the existence of violence and political polarisation in Seke and Murewa and the level of commitment and willingness shown by the new group of Peace Ambassadors (PAs) from Seke and Murewa during the pilot project. The project strategy involves the establishment of peace clubs and peace gardens as community dialogue spaces that will be run by Peace Ambassadors with guidance from the foundational statutes and leadership that will be elected through the general assembly. Goromonzi and Epworth peace ambassadors referred to herein and after as Pioneer Peace Ambassadors will continue to offer support through exchange visits and peer to peer engagements. The project will be two years long, with sustainability of the peace gardens and some of the peace clubs activities in year two. Towards the end of the project, Peace Ambassadors have sustained the peace garden and peace clubs and are working towards a joint statement which will be self evaluative in nature.
