Gender discrimination and violence towards adolescent girls remains both a social and cultural challenge in Zambia We believe that the legal system, if used well, could help protect vulnerable girls and women from such challenges However, like in most developing African countries, poverty and lack of financial resources pose a huge challenge in accessing legal help Children?s rights in general, and girl?s rights in specific, still face great threats Of primary concern are early marriage, corporal punishment, child labor, forced marriage, adolescent pregnancies - just to mention a few Sexually and physically abused adolescent girls lack the proper psychological or health follow-up Lack of basic education or community outreach programs aimed at vulnerable adolescent girls, leaves these girls with no place to seek help Availability and accessibility to such youth projects and community outreach programs, will give these girls the second chance they need
