Identification of one high impact value chain and its actors per country

Following a participatory process that already took place before the actual start date of the project, the following high impact value chains have been identified: in Ghana cassava, in Burkina Faso shea butter, in Togo pineapple and in Sao Tome and Principe cocoa. Workshops to further explore the needs in relation to the above-mentioned value chains, to develop a strategy and to identify the main actors were conducted in the four project countries in March 2018. However, the identification of value-chain operators in the four countries is a continuous process that will be conducted during the whole implementation period of the project, as new value chain operators may emerge and/ or develop.
