The mission of the World Economic Forum's System Initiative on Shaping the Future of Food Security and Agriculture is to build inclusive, sustainable, efficient, and nutritious food systems through leadership-driven, market-based action and collaboration, informed by insights and innovation, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals. The System Initiative engages organizations to strengthen food systems and translate global-level commitment into action on the ground. It is built around the New Vision for Agriculture (NVA), which advances food security, environmental sustainability, and economic opportunity through a market-based and multistakeholder approach. The World Economic Forum established the New Vision for Agriculture Transformation Leaders Network in collaboration with the Government of the Netherlands. The Network convenes nearly 150 senior practitioners across all sectors and over 30 countries for insights and best practice exchange. The Network seeks to realize the New Vision for Agriculture through three objectives: (1) Enhancing the positive impacts of NVA-catalysed public-private partnerships for agriculture; (2) Promoting system leadership development through peer-to-peer exchange, and (3) Strengthening multistakeholder collaboration in agriculture.
