Cooperative Communities: Advancing local governance in Southern Yemen

With funding from the Dutch Embassy, Search-Yemen is supporting inclusive and accountable local level governance across 3 governorates in south Yemen. This project leverages Search’s Community Dialogue Approach (CDA), engaging local communities and authorities to identify local trusted actors to act as “Insider Mediators” (IMs). IMs are empowered to lead community-focused stabilization activities through dialogue to identify and prioritize conflict issues and develop action plans for community initiatives to resolve these conflicts. Additionally, sustainable mechanisms for continued cooperation and inclusive decision-making processes will be instituted to ensure the long-term impact of this initiative.
