IATI Identifier:
At the program level, HI Laos ensures gender and development training for all program staff. Focal persons within the organization are also identified and provide technical support for program, project and activities development. At the project implementation level, project planning, monitoring and evaluation tools integrate specific gender analysis processes. The project will seek to ensure disaggregation of all monitoring and evaluation data collected at outcome, result and indicator levels to support identification gender disparities. Where disparities are identified, specific approaches will be developed to address disparities. In relation to outcome one, the initial phase of project identified a disparity in the number of boys and girls receiving early childhood development services from the Children’s Hospital’s Child Development Clinic. The project will develop an action plan to ensure that this disparity is not related to gender based discrimination within families and/or hospital staff. Traditional gender roles for childcare within the Laos household will be directly challenged. Rehabilitation plans will seek to ensure that all family members play a role in child development and rehabilitation.
