PROG2017-2021_SDI4-TNZ_Vulnerable girls and boys (aged 15-25) from Tanzania (in, Dodoma and Dar Es Salaam) are inserted professionally and socially into society thanks to high-quality skills development services delivered by our partner organizations. (Vocational Training Centers, Job Placement Offices, Planning and Development Offices)

The objective of VIA Don Bosco in Tanzania is to support socioprofessional integration of youngsters between 15 and 28 years old. Creating opportunities for youth constitutes the backbone for the present program. To meet the needs of Tanzanian youngsters, VIA Don Bosco works together with two Vocational Trainings Centers (VTCs) in Dar Es Salaam, and Dodoma. In addition, as of 2017, a Teacher’s Training College (TTC) will be founded in order to tackle the need and demand for qualified VTC trade instructors in the country. Special attention will be given to the accompaniment of young Tanzanians to the world of work together with the Job Placement Offices (JPOs). Together with our partner organizations, we seek to equip young (future) employees with employable skills, consequently reducing the skills gap that currently exists. As a result, quality vocational training, apprenticeship, as well as short term tailored courses to enhance workplace skills and entrepreneurship skills have been identified as the best approaches in the implementation of this program. The entire process will be coordinated and accompanied by the Project Development Office (PDO).
