This initiative aims to support the establishment of inclusive and accountable Bangsamoro institutions that promote and support the participation of women and other marginalized groups in governance. The project promotes inclusive and gender responsive governance by supporting women and marginalized groups to take on political leadership roles, and participate in governance processes, political transitions, conflict transformation and post-conflict reconstruction and development. The long-term outcomes of the initiative include strenghened gender-responsive governance in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), as well as advnaced women’s economic empowerment at the local and regional levels. The initiative will also foster gender equality and diversity in the Bangsamoro.
