Gender and PBCT (Peace Building and Conflict Transformation)

Gender inequality in Sri Lanka is a major driver of poverty and injustice with women over-represented among the poor and marginalised. Women and girls are confronted on a daily basis with norms that limit their opportunities and perceived value to society. These include physical, sexual and psychological violence. Key priorities for the Gender Justice pillar during the year 2017/18 is to develop specific target programs to addressing violence against women and GBV through developing partnership and supporting the implementation of the National Plan of Action to address SGBV (Sexual and Gender based Violence)
