The Program "Communal Approach to Agricultural Market in Benin - phase 2" ACMA 2 will consolidate the achievements of phase I and meet the major challenge of increasing the supply of agricultural products in quantity and quality to take full advantage of the infrastructure built and better respond to the many opportunities of local and sub - regional markets including Nigeria. This through targeted actions on all links of the product value chains. The ACMA 2 Program focuses on Production, Processing and Commercialization. The Program "Communal Approach for the Agricultural Market in Benin - phase 2" (ACMA 2) is a 4-year project funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Benin (2017-2021), with an overall budget of 17,5 million euros, i.e. 11,151,269,000 FCFA. The program is implemented by a consortium led by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC). This consortium is composed of IFDC, CARE International Benin /Togo and the Royal Netherlands Institute for the Tropics (KIT). The ACMA 2 Program will contribute to improving the food and nutritional security of rural populations in Benin. The overall objective is to increase the agricultural incomes of the economic actors at the local level. This is done through three specific objectives, namely: (i) to increase trade in agricultural products by organized producers and processors; (ii) Improve the agricultural productivity of producers and processors; (iii) Reduce trade barriers for agricultural products within Benin and with neighboring countries, particularly Nigeria.
