Although the recently revitalized peace Agreement (R-ARCSS) offers a new glimpse of hope and stability in South Sudan with recent formation of Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU), the cumulative effects of years of protracted conflict, violence, underdevelopment, lack of basic services, economic crisis, and climatic shocks have continued to exacerbate the humanitarian situation in the country, with millions people living in precarious conditions of abject poverty, chronic food insecurity and malnutrition, and economic destitution.
