In 2020, the North-East Nigeria crisis is going into it’s eleventh year. Even though the number of people in need has decreased from 7.7 to 7.1 million between June 2018 and June 2019, the crisis remains one of the most severe in the world. Continued widespread insecurity and hostilities, especially in Borno State, continue to have serious consequences on humanitarian operations and the civilian population. The response of Save the Children focuses on the sectors where we have expertise and which have the highest needs and gaps, namely Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), (Child) Protection, Nutrition.
