Mozambique Community Level Mobilization Home Fortification Project.

Activities: The program is based on the positive experience of Save the Children Mozambique with the mobilization of communities. It builds on an existing mobilization platform. By mobilizing communities, individuals and groups are more likely to take action in the field of maternal health, newborn and children (MNCH). In three regions vouchers are provided. With one voucher 20 sachets of MNP can be purchased. The children for whom the powder is intended, receive in for a period of 60 days and then one sachet per day for four months, until they are older than 23 months. The following activities are carried out : 1) Beira City: at the local level 15 health centers are directly supported with training, materials, voucher delivery by trained activists and promoters at the district level to the other seven health centers are supported herein. 2) Dondo district: activists are trained at the district level, provided with necessary materials, monitoringtools and vouchers. 3) Nhamatanda District: 7 health centers and associated communities are supported with training, materials, voucher delivery by trained activists and promoters and supervision through monitoring tools. .
