Syria Joint Response 2020

<p>The project will rehabilitate domestic shelter for vulnerable families in Aleppo, including household adaptations for people living with mobility impairment. This activity is carried out by ZOAs partner Medair.</p> <p>In Aleppo and Rural Damascus, ZOA will work with GOPA-DERD to identify most vulnerable families for vocational training in subjects likely to provide a future income for the households. Participants will also receive lifeskills training, and cash for attendance while undergoing the training. </p> <p>The activities are closely coordinated with other SJR partners, to facilitate referrals of beneficiaries, and joint learning.</p> Covid-19: The Covid-19 project aims to provide essential water, sanitation and personal hygiene goods and services for preparedness and prevention of COVID-19 to 9, 000 vulnerable individuals in Nashabiyeh (Duma, Rural Damascus). The main project activities are: -distribution of hygiene kits -installation of household water tanks -communication of critical risk information. CHS: The overall expected result by the end of 2020 is that ZOA Syria Response and its local partners operate more in line with the ZOA standard ‘Way of Working’, thereby strengthening adherence also to the Core Humanitarian Standards. Funding is within the SJR fund, a budget of 22,000 EUR has been allocated to accountability/CHS. Project Objectives are: 1. Strengthened accountability for affected populations 2. ZOA Management team is equipped to lead and manage staff 3. ZOA programmes are conflict sensitive 4. ZOA has more and better equipped local partners
