Emergency Relief Flood Victims in Pibor

<p>The DRA Flood Response aims to increase the resilience of 2,000 households who were affected by the most severe flooding in 50 years. Food insecurity was the mean threat to these households and it is proposed that these 2,000 households are provided with food parcels as well as seeds, tools and fishing gear. The targeted households are in Pibor town (1,000) and in Gumuruk (1,000). Both locations are in Jonglei State, which was not only the State hardest hit by the floodings but is also the State with the highest incidence of food insecurity (53% of the population were IPC3 or above&nbsp;<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">(IPC Acute Food Insecurity &amp; Malnutrition Assessment by WFP, August 2019). The flood waters have swept away fields and any food and seeds that were in store deteriorating the food security situation even more.&nbsp;</span></p> <p>This project addresses two objectives under the Food Security and Livelihoods subtheme:</p> <p>1) short-term livelihood support</p> <p>2) Availability of, access to and consumption of food</p>
