In Pakistan KIT is responsible for conducting research on the root causes of child marriage & teenage pregnancies, testing the assumptions of the TOC, and for measuring effectiveness of strategic interventions on child marriages & teenage pregnancies. This means that KIT is responsible for the base and end line studies, the midline and the operational research. KIT closely collaborates with local researchers and capacitates local research teams on mixed methods research and knowledge management. The research has the aim to test the underlying assumptions of the programme’s theory of change, to measure the effectiveness of the interventions introduced by the programme and to look into the interrelations between child marriage and teenage pregnancy and the interventions that address these in Pakistan. The research will contribute to optimization of the Yes I Do intervention strategies and provide context specific knowledge for advocacy and policy purposes, in order to move towards a situation in which adolescent girls can decide if, when and whom to marry and if, when and with whom to have children. Furthermore KIT will lead on the validation and dissemination of research outcomes, and analysing country specific Monitoring & Evaluation data for lessons learned and measuring outcomes and impact of the Yes I do Alliance in Pakistan.
