#JordanHortiFuture: Towards a More Inclusive and Resilient Horticulture Sector for Smallholder Farmers in Jordan

Mercy Corps in partnership with Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Advance Consulting and Agriterra is implementing the three-year #JordanHortiFuture programme, guided by the overarching goal of enabling smallholder farmers to have an increased income and resilience in a better performing horticulture sector. The Consortium, focusing in Irbid, Ajloun (highlands), and Balqa (Jordan Valley), will adopt an inclusive and layered-approach to address the root causes and challenges of smallholder farmers and value chain actors, both at individual and organization-level, to enhance efficiency, sustainability and profitability of the horticulture sector in Jordan. Ultimately, the programme will contribute to a horticulture sector in Jordan that is inclusive, entrepreneurial, sustainable and resilient for these smallholder farmers. To this end, the programme will target smallholder farmers, but also SMEs and other value chain actors, cooperatives, government agencies, policy makers and financial institutions.
