IATI Identifier:
The UK Department for International Development (DfID) and UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) (the clients) have engaged DAI working with Common Seas (“the Coordination Team”) to establish a Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) to coordinate an engagement and scoping exercise across 23 eligible Commonwealth member states that will determine how to allocate these funds to support meaningful action to reduce plastic pollution across the Commonwealth. The Coordination Team has conducted initial desk-based background research and a short telephone interview with the Designated Representative of The Gambia. The purpose of this pre-scoping assessment was to better understand priority issues (where identified) and capacity in addressing the flow of plastic waste into water bodies; existing, planned or potential areas of policy action in relation to the CCOA commitments; and to identify other key stakeholders who should be consulted.
